With a keen awareness of the many barriers one may face when looking for quality mental health treatment, Dr. Amin has strived to create a space that is affirming and inclusive of her clients’ lived experiences and their intersecting identities. Dr. Anjuli Amin obtained her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She is currently on staff at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center where she treats military veterans in the Tele-Mental Health Clinic. She has received extensive training in the areas of behavioral medicine, social justice, and evidence-based treatments for depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In addition to clinical work, Dr. Amin enjoys teaching psychology trainees, medical residents, and a range of healthcare professionals about the psychotherapy process. She holds an appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor with UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine. At the national level, Dr. Amin has been actively involved with the Asian American Psychological Association since 2007. She was elected the first South Asian President of AAPA in 2020 and currently serves as past-President.
