Dr. Samantha Schindelheim is a licensed clinical social worker on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Dr. Schindelheim is passionate about helping individuals and families move from surviving emotional turmoil and life problems to thriving with the use of healthy coping strategies and a safe, trusting, and collaborative team approach to treatment. Over the last 9 years, she has worked with young children, teens, and their parents as well as college and middle-age adults who struggle with behavioral challenges, attention difficulties, low self-esteem, interpersonal issues, mood, anxiety, trauma and life cycle transitions. She has specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Adolescents (DBT-A), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Parent-Management Training (PMT).

Dr. Schindelheim is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia School of Social Work where she teaches Advanced Clinical Practice and Suicide Assessment and Treatment to MSW students. She is also a clinical consultant on an NIMH Grant through Johns Hopkins Medical Center, which focuses on suicide intervention research for Community Health Workers in Baltimore, Maryland. She received her Doctorate in Clinical Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Columbia School of Social Work. Outside of private practice, she loves to play with her daughter at the park, spend time with nature in the Catskills, and watch trashy TV.
