Often clients reach out when things have piled up in their lives, and they need a place to sort things out. Together we will figure out what is getting in the way of living the life you want. I love working with people who are either looking for love or are trying to navigate their current relationship. I believe that the quality of people’s relationships have an enormous impact on their overall satisfaction in life. I’m grateful that I get to make my livelihood from helping people get what they want out of life and relationships. It’s energizing work.
Some of the most exciting parts are figuring out what is getting people stuck. Maybe there is a longing to connect, but self-sabotage keeps coming up. Or perhaps it is hard to handle intense emotions within a relationship. Sometimes there are unresolved issues from the past that keep popping up. Or maybe a combo of all three. Once we can figure what’s getting in the way, we can work on moving forward to the goal. It's cool stuff.

Making the decision to enter therapy can be really challenging. The idea of talking about things that you may be struggling to find words for or feel embarrassed about can be so hard. Together we'll find a way to give voice to the parts that feel messy and create a space where it feels safe to share your struggles. I'd love to connect to answer any questions and make sure you feel like it's a good fit.

It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help and I am so happy that you have decided to seek support and guidance. Life can feel difficult if you are going through life challenges and finding it difficult to overcome the anxiety and stress related to these challenges. Most of my clients feel highly sensitive and often struggle with relationships, health, sleep issues, career related issues, and challenges of daily life. However, I believe that feeling this high sensitivity can actually be used as a strength and I enjoy partnering with my clients to help navigate them through life in a more mindful and positive way. I believe that no matter what our background or struggles have been, we all have the ability and right to live joyful, peaceful, and successful lives.

My practice is guided through my own profound healing and my spiritual journey. I believe that challenges and life traumas provide an opportunity for growth and that the mind, body and spirituality are all connected to our overall functioning. My goal for our work together is to help you live to your highest potential by providing you with the tools through an integration of theories and interventions specific for you. I am compassionate, authentic and passionate about this work! In some cases, therapy involves recommendations to other professionals such as physicians, psychiatrists, etc.. While these recommendations are not requirements, they may be necessary for you to fully recover and avoid serious difficulties.

It is always important to talk through difficult experiences, and I offer a compassionate and safe space for you to do this. Together, we can come up with solutions to every day issues and effective coping strategies.

I specialize in the treatment of emotional eating and binge eating disorder. People who struggle with this problem usually feel a deep sense of shame about their unwanted eating and their struggle to overcome it. They often feel that the problem is due to their own lack of self-control or the willpower to just stop.

I believe that emotional eating is not a passive failure of control, but an active, defiant response against external control: namely, the perceived pressure to lose weight. When people diet to please others, they eventually feel that it’s unfair and rebel against it. That feeling of being controlled is what triggers emotional eating, not the tempting food. When anxiety about  the uncontrolled eating takes over, the diet pressure returns and the cycle continues.

If you recognize this pattern in your own behavior, therapy can help you break the binge-diet cycle and establish a more positive relationship with food, and with yourself.

I'm aware of how hard it is to talk about personal problems. You feel vulnerable, confused, embarrassed, angry, afraid, and childlike. You feel stuck at a certain level of understanding or problem solving and can't bounce back. You wish you could talk to someone who won't judge you, but would listen deeply to your story and help you recapture hope and meaning in your life and relationships.
I believe I can help. I provide a safe place where you and your partner can understand how your feelings and thoughts affect the ways you act, react, think, feel, and relate. I am interested in hearing your story with all the twist and turns of your personal history. When you share your story, I will listen and give you back new meanings so you can learn more about yourself and your partner in a new way. Together we will figure out how to resolve your painful conflicts, discover what triggers your emotional reactivity, explore your life's journey more deeply, and if possible, begin to develop new was to heal your past and revision your future.
