Therapists In-Network with United Healthcare in Chicago

United Healthcare is a common health insurance in Chicago, and individuals who have United Healthcare may wish to find therapists who are in-network with their health insurance.

When you see a therapist who is in-network with United Healthcare, each session you’ll pay only a copay, which typically ranges from $0-$75/session. Depending on your plan, you may first need to pay the provider’s full session fee until you meet your annual deductible, which is the total amount of medical expenses required before your health insurance starts to cover costs. Some plans cover the cost of in-network therapy sessions before the deductible is met; to verify whether your specific plan covers therapy sessions and at what rate, visit the United Healthcare website or call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask about your coverage for outpatient mental health.

Say goodbye to sleepless nights, tossing and turning with worry. In our work together, we will talk through your vision for yourself. We will identify how your anxiety might be holding you back from achieving that vision. Then, we will make a plan to help you tame the power that anxiety has on you. I am confident that if we put in the time and effort, you will witness deep change in yourself.

I specialize in the treatment of emotional eating and binge eating disorder. People who struggle with this problem usually feel a deep sense of shame about their unwanted eating and their struggle to overcome it. They often feel that the problem is due to their own lack of self-control or the willpower to just stop.

I believe that emotional eating is not a passive failure of control, but an active, defiant response against external control: namely, the perceived pressure to lose weight. When people diet to please others, they eventually feel that it’s unfair and rebel against it. That feeling of being controlled is what triggers emotional eating, not the tempting food. When anxiety about  the uncontrolled eating takes over, the diet pressure returns and the cycle continues.

If you recognize this pattern in your own behavior, therapy can help you break the binge-diet cycle and establish a more positive relationship with food, and with yourself.

You may come to therapy because you are feeling depressed or anxious. You may not even be able to identify at first exactly what you are looking for other than a nagging feeling that you aren’t living the life you want. I strive to create a safe space for my clients to voice the thoughts, feelings, and memories that you carry around with you, and that you may never have had the chance to speak aloud. I respond to you with respect and compassion and help you to become kinder and more compassionate toward yourself. I invite you to reflect on your sources of meaning and purpose, whether they include organized religion, spirituality, or a personal philosophy of life. Giving voice to your authentic self requires courage, but it can create an opportunity for healing, change and growth. I look forward to meeting you!

Hi there, I believe that everyone has their own inner ‘garden,’ which has the potential to be bountiful, beautiful, and serene. If we want to maintain our gardens and have them represent the most beautiful aspects of our lives, we need to nourish them and water them regularly. Keeping our gardens beautiful and vibrant does take work, but it is work that makes life more joyous and manageable. I view psychotherapy as a practice that can help you to support your garden so that it, and you, can flourish. Helping individuals and families tend to their gardens, remove weeds, and plant new seeds: this is my greatest purpose.

I look forward to helping you manifest your garden.

Self Design was born out of a desire to help people who feel lost, find themselves again. Our mission is to help you be your authentic self on your own and in relationships.  Life’s challenges often cause us to disconnect from who we are and what is important to us. Find yourself. Be yourself. Be who you want to be.

Our focus is self-awareness and self-discovery, which leads to improved self-esteem and better judgment about what decisions are right for you.  It is difficult to figure out next steps in life.  Psychotherapy with a non-judgmental, down to earth therapist can help.

The cost of sessions depends on your plan’s coverage, and whether you’re seeing a therapist who is in- or out-of-network with United Healthcare.
