Out-of-pocket-fees: $100 - $150 per session

Inspired Healing Services, LLC is a counseling practice with Licensed Counselors and Counselors and Social Workers in training, in West Haven, Connecticut, who specializes in anxiety, trauma, career stress, and internal conflict. We also sees clients for existential challenges, including those due to life transitions and a general confusion about what direction they want their life to head in.

When working with clients for anxiety, our team uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their symptoms are presenting. This often entails unpacking their particular distortions, their beliefs about failing at work, and any generalizations that may be harmful to their perceptions of themselves. Our approach is client-centered, and we really strives to help clients challenge their negative cognitive processes in order to get to a place of greater self-acceptance and empowerment.

We also uses trauma-focused CBT when helping clients navigate trauma. This may entail having clients rewrite their own narratives; we often weave in mindfulness skills. This can help clients get back in touch with their present reality, and reduce the extent to which they feel the past controls their thoughts and memories. We are careful and compassionate when working with trauma, and always open to looking at current triggers and how the trauma response is affecting them.

Having worked in Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and traditional addiction treatment, our Founder and Director, Katherine Casey, saw firsthand the benefits of holistic care beyond traditional talk therapy including somatic and arts therapies, providing family support, collaborating with medical providers, and referrals to community resources. Perhaps most importantly, she recognized the value of using personal insight and experiences to help guide clients on their paths to wellness and self-discovery. Today, these lessons are the principles that guide our practice.

At The Root Therapy NYC clients have the opportunity to develop insight and gain new skills while feeling empowered in the therapeutic process. Clients play a key role in developing goals and evaluating progress in the therapeutic process – they decide what they want to get out of therapy and when they have achieved their goals.

The Root Therapy NYC is staffed with therapists with a range of clinical training and expertise to help guide clients through a change process using approaches that research has proven effective. Each therapist is an individual who reflects the group’s guiding principles through ongoing clinical supervision, continuing education, community engagement, and self-care.

I consider myself to be understanding and empathetic. Someone who is interactive and loves to challenge and present new ideas. I first became interested in becoming a therapist because talking is a powerful tool; it relieves stress, releases negative energy, and helps people better problem solve. This is my mission for the clients that I work with.

I am someone who explores all areas of my client's life in order to get to the root of their problem; I am willing to work just as hard as the client as I believe a strong therapeutic alliance produces the best outcomes. I offer phone consultations as an opportunity to talk about my services and learn more about you. During our initial appointment I will conduct an intake assessment of your background and history, and from there treatment plan to start working towards your therapeutic goals.
