I'm of the mindset that everyone can benefit from therapy. Each of us has unique worries and concerns that we 1) don't want to burden our friends and family with or 2) can't imagine anyone listening to without judgment. Therefore, choosing a therapist that you feel comfortable talking to is essential. The only way to truly benefit from therapy is to start off feeling understood, respected, and valued.

Reaching out to see a therapist for the first time can be intimidating. Many patients and families have fears about what seeing a psychiatrist or therapist will entail. We may worry about being judged or pushed into treatments we're not comfortable with. These concerns are often a barrier for people seeking treatment. Dr. Sultan is aware of these roadblocks, and labors to create a safe and welcoming environment for his patients.

There are many treatments available, and Dr. Sultan is experienced in a wide range of them, including psychoanalysis, cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, family therapy, supportive treatment, and psychopharmacology. Each of these treatments has advantages and disadvantages, and while this might seem overwhelming to newcomers, Dr. Sultan believes in working with patients to create the most comfortable and effective treatment for each individual. His extensive experience with a diverse range of patients with varied symptoms, severities, and conditions allows him to be an excellent resource for customizing the right treatment for each of his patients.

Dr. Sultan endeavors to inform his patients how their individualized treatments are right for them. By developing a collaborative plan, he believes patients and families will be empowered to succeed over the long term.

I practiced law for a number of years and this practical experience informs my perspective as well.

Reaching out to see a therapist for the first time can be intimidating. Many patients and families have fears about what seeing a psychiatrist or therapist will entail. We may worry about being judged or pushed into treatments with which we are not comfortable. These concerns are often a barrier for people seeking treatment. We are aware of these roadblocks, and labor to create a safe and welcoming environment for our patients.

At Integrative Psychiatry, we specialize in Adult and Child ADHD, depression, Anxiety, and GLBTQI issues.

We integrate many types of psychotherapy, medications, and even evidenced-based Eastern medicine. We specialize in helping new clients enter the world of mental heath and mental health providers. Our initial evaluations place an emphasis on correctly identifying an individual's struggle or diagnosis, and then guiding that individual into the most appropriate type(s) of treatment.

All of our practitioners are both medical providers and psychotherapists. As medical providers, we have higher reimbursement rates from insurance than social work and PhD practitioners. This allows our extensive documentation to increase your out-of-network reimbursement.
