Practice Information

The ACT Urgently program combines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Process-Based Therapy (PBT) to provide personalized, flexible treatment for a wide range of mental health concerns. Our team of compassionate therapists, based in Cranston and Wakefield, RI, offers individual therapy sessions both in-person and online, accommodating the busy lifestyles of our clients.

Specializing in chronic illness, relationship challenges, anxiety, and more, our approach focuses on understanding the underlying processes that drive your unique struggles. Rather than using specific protocols for symptoms, we aim to identify and address the core mechanisms that are impacting your mental health. This allows us to create a tailored, individualized treatment plan that meets you where you are in your journey and helps you move toward a life that aligns with your values and priorities.

Using evidence-based approaches such as ACT, Focused ACT (fACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we work with you to build psychological flexibility, enabling you to handle challenges with more ease and resilience. Our program is designed to provide affordable and effective care, with clients often experiencing meaningful progress in as little as 3 sessions, but typically within 8-12 sessions.

We are committed to accessibility and inclusivity, offering appointments within 72 hours to ensure you can start your healing process without unnecessary delays. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, or other life challenges, we provide a safe, welcoming space for individuals from all backgrounds to begin their journey toward healing and growth. Our focus on flexibility and adaptability helps create lasting change tailored to your unique identity and circumstances.

FAQS

What are your practice's specialties?

Our providers have a wide range of specialties, making our group easily accessible for a variety of client needs, allowing us to customize an individualized action plan within the context of their unique identity and circumstances. Common topics include: a newly diagnosed or ongoing chronic illness, recurring panic attacks, performance and academic stress, anxiety, loss of direction, trauma, grief, and loss.

What services does your practice offer?

ACT Urgently offers individual, family, and couples therapy, in addition to group sessions and workshops. Individual sessions are tailored to each client's needs and held in a safe and comfortable environment. If you travel frequently or have difficulty finding time for therapy, we also have telehealth options.

Group sessions are ongoing based upon current need and focus on psychological flexibility, skill development and workshop programs vary, but previously offered services have included a self regulation and behavioral management workshop and mindfulness practice sessions.

Why should I choose your practice?

Unlike traditional models that rely on specific protocols for symptoms, we focus on the underlying processes that drive psychological challenges. Our goal is not simply to eliminate symptoms, though that often occurs, but to equip you with the tools to endure and navigate life’s difficulties. By leveraging your strengths and developing new skills, we help you approach challenges with greater resilience and flexibility.

ACT and PBT allow us to bridge many therapeutic models and customize treatment based on your unique context, needs, and personal journey. This flexible, integrative approach helps us focus on what truly drives your experience, tailoring solutions that work for you.

We also recognize that meaningful change often happens early, with significant progress typically seen in less than six sessions. Our goal is to help you live in accordance with your values, fostering lasting change that empowers you to respond more effectively to life's challenges.

How does payment work at your practice?

At our practice, we accept a wide variety of insurance, but the ACT Urgently program was initially designed to ensure that individuals without insurance have access to affordable services. Sessions typically cost between $35-$60, with some sessions available for as little as $15.

This program aims to provide low-cost care, often at a rate similar to a copay, and ensure quick access to therapy for those seeking help. Our goal is to make mental health services accessible to everyone, regardless of insurance coverage, while maintaining a focus on high-quality, individualized care.
