Balanced Mind is a private group practice dedicated to restoring the emotional health and wellbeing of children, adults, and couples of New York State. We work with insurance to provide you with both quality and accessible care.

Our purpose is to join you in true partnership as you embark on your journey of growth and transformation. We are guided by the belief that therapy should mean creating a foundation of security and warmth to build a bridge between where you are and where you want to be. As therapists who believe in showing up for you as our whole authentic selves, we merge the wisdom of our trainings with the insights from our lived experiences to help you navigate your challenges and celebrate your successes.


How does payment work at your practice?

We are in-network providers with Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Oscar, and Oxford. For all other insurances, we provide reimbursements. We will reach out to your insurance company to confirm your eligibility and benefits, obtain a payment quote for each session, and submit claims on your behalf.

If you have an out-of-network plan, any reimbursements will be sent directly to you via mail. Insurance typically reimburse 50-80% of the of the fee, but note that each policy is different.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and HSA/FSA cards.

What services does your practice offer?

Balanced Mind helps adults, couples, children, and families. We offer the convenience and flexibility of virtual telehealth.

What are your practice's specialties?

Schema Therapy is for those who wish to deeply understand the conflict themes driving their narratives and live more fully in accordance to their beliefs and values.

AEDP is an experiential psychodynamic therapy that believes humans are wired for resilience and have an inborn ability to cope with emotional pain.

Creative Arts Therapy uses art as the therapeutic medium to encourage emotional expression, work through traumatic experiences, connects with others, and tell your life story.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is a short-term treatment that resolves trauma symptoms caused by distressing life events.

Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress

Relationship issues - Understanding one’s wants and needs in relationships; exploring patterns of interaction, addressing concerns, and strengthening satisfaction in relationships and dating

Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
