Braver is on a mission to solve the twin crises of access to care and quality of care in the child anxiety epidemic. We believe all anxious kids should get help; help that actually works.
We build on a decade of work by co-founders, child psychologist Abbe Garcia, PhD and child psychiatrist Brady Case, MD, getting exposure therapy out of offices and into the real world, where we can see and act on the avoidance behaviors and family interactions that perpetuate anxiety. Our innovative care model enables our team to work alongside kids and families in homes, schools, and wherever anxiety lives. We believe the most effective care for our patients is delivered through a blend of field visits, telehealth sessions, group therapy and family sessions. To ensure maximum reach and impact, our care is delivered by a team of expert clinicians and bachelors level mobile exposure coaches, supported by Braver’s proprietary technology, in a collaborative and caring multidisciplinary work environment.
Braver provides team-based therapy for kids, teens and young adults with anxiety and OCD. Our program consists of a thorough evaluation and orientation followed by weekly coaching/therapy sessions. Once per month the psychologist meets with the patient's family/parents to provide psychoeducation and additional support. We also have a child psychiatrist and psychiatric nurse practitioner on staff who can prescribe or adjust medications if needed.
Braver specializes in Exposure Therapy with Response Prevention - which is the treatment proven to be most successful for anxiety disorders.
The team at Braver truly shows up for your child and your family. Built by our nation's leading experts in the field of anxiety, Braver offers a unique and proven team-based approach to treating anxiety and OCD. Our model allows for both telehealth and well as in person visits; we will even come to your home or meet you and your child in places in the community where anxiety affects you - such as school or other social settings. Often we treat kids who have spent months or years in other forms of therapy with no success. Braver works and our experienced team genuinely cares.
Braver will submit bills directly to your insurance company. Co-pays are due at the time of each visit. Convenient payment options are available in cases where some services may be out of network with your insurer.

All visits with licensed providers are covered by the insurance plans listed above. Patients meet with licensed providers for initial evaluation, initial therapy session(s) before they are seen weekly by a bachelor's level coach who is supervised daily by the licensed provider. Parents meet monthly with the licensed provider who is supervising their child's care. For insurances not listed, we can provide a Superbill for these licensed provider services. Coaching services are covered by BCBSRI and most Aetna plans; for all other insurance companies coaching services are billed directly to patients and Superbills cannot be generated because coaching is not yet considered a covered service by these other companies.
