It is a big step to realize that therapy may be needed in your life currently. And that step is not lost on us. In fact, we've taken some big life steps as well (therapists are not exempt from life shifts), and it took courage, faith and big leaps. The fact that you're considering working with our practice is also a pretty big deal. So, thank you. We'd like to offer a few thoughts as you continue to prepare for a leap of your own:
We believe that you have what you need to make impactful changes to your life. We really do! Sometimes, we need to process those ideas and questions with a neutral person - believe it or not - someone who will know what you want them to know. Someone who creates the space for you to share your story, on your terms. Our hope is that you will find us to be supportive and encouraging, able to hold you accountable to yourself and your dreams, and also to offer perspectives and questions that help you reach a place of authenticity, joy, and contentment. Our collaboration and commitment to this process is what will help us even more.
Our practice believes in equity, and justice, and for people of color especially, these ideas often show up as toxicity: in work environments, in relationships, and other places where we are one of the only black or brown people in the room. While we may not be able to change the systems of injustice, we surely are in control of how we show up. And that's part of the work too.
Finally, big leaps are necessary. They are needed, And they are so worth it.

About
What services does your practice offer?
Cameron Mental Health Therapy is a small, bilingual private practice specializing in individual and couples therapy for all genders and relationship arrangements.
What are your practice's specialties?
Cameron Mental Health Therapy works with clients who have requested assistance in multiple areas, including depression and dependency, life transitions and workplace toxicity. We have a special interest in working with those who have experienced forms of life traumas. Examples include, but are not limited to: generational, sexual, financial, and ancestral trauma.
Why should I choose your practice?
In working with us, you will hear the perspectives of women of color who have had extensive training in trauma and how it shows up in life and prevents us from living in the ways we desire. When you choose us, you will have therapists who are not afraid to talk about healthy sexuality and other ideas, whose lives are rooted in social justice, and who work best with those who know themselves. We are bilingual and brown woman owned, and we are proud and grateful for that. We believe in the power of the ancestors and of ourselves. And we can't wait to work with you.
How does payment work at your practice?
We are private pay at this time, and will be happy to provide information to you and assist with seeking reimbursement from your respective insurance company.
