Families come to Emotesy because their children are struggling with behavioral issues, school problems, difficulties controlling worries, or poor emotion regulation skills. Our therapists enjoy working with children, adolescents, and families. Working collaboratively with clients, we create shared goals and build skills using play therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. Your therapist is here to help bring out the best in your child and family.
Our goal is to help families connect and thrive. We offer the flexibility of in-office or virtual sessions. We understand the importance of accommodating school schedules and are happy to supply a letter to your child's school to help coordinate services.
Emotesy clients leave with new strategies to help them navigate behavioral challenges and a renewed sense of hope. Our therapists specialize in working with children and families. We enjoy helping clients move through issues related to behavioral problems, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, divorce and school-related problems. We also provide parent support to help the whole family be more successful.
We specialize in using play therapy as our principal approach in working with our clients. Play therapy allows children to express themselves in a manner that feels both safe and natural to them. Using play based methods and other evidence based techniques, therapy can be a space for children to work through big feelings that can sometimes show up as anger outbursts, defiance, school or relationship issues. Your therapist may use a variety of formats such as individual, family or parent-only sessions.
Emotesy has a unique focus on working with children and families. All our therapists have extensive training in play therapy, child mental health, and providing parenting support. We emphasize collaboration and empowering families to be successful upon exiting therapy.
