Ginkgo Leaf Health Services is an online health counseling practice focused on addressing medical stress and trauma. We provide services specifically for patients, caregivers, and healthcare workers who have been through adverse experiences in health and healthcare. We recognize that whether you have witnessed or directly experienced medical trauma or the ravages of injury and illness, it is hard, and we are here to help.
Our providers are passionate about healing healthcare. In addition to providing direct care to our clients, we are engaged in teaching, writing, and advocacy work. We offer individual, group, and couples counseling services, as well as meditation and life coaching services and pro bono financial counseling. Our groups are unique; examples of offerings include RISE, a program developed for women who have experienced traumatic medical events, and Caregiver Grief for Moms, a program specifically for mothers of medically complex children.
Our providers are unique, as well; they include Dr. Christen Mullane, Dr. Tess Kilwein, Ms. Theresa Ruggiero, LCSW, and Mr. Matt Maxwell. Each of our providers has extensive experience working with medical problems as a major focus of our care. We have worked in emergency rooms, palliative care clinics, cancer clinics, primary care and skilled nursing facilities. We provide treatments such as CBT for insomnia and chronic pain, as well as trauma-focused therapies such as Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy with focused adaptations for those who have experienced medical trauma.
Ginkgo Leaf Health Services is a full-service virtual therapy group practice that offers brief and long-term individual therapy, as well as couples therapy and groups.
At Ginkgo Leaf Health Services, we are out of network with insurance providers. However, we provide Superbills and courtesy billing services to assist you in working with your insurance wherever possible. Our fees range from $100 - $250 depending on the provider that you see and the service they provide.
Our providers specialize in a variety of areas, however we have a particular interest in treating medical trauma. We see medical trauma as systemic in nature, meaning that anyone working in or interacting with medical systems could be touched by this type of suffering. The world became acutely aware of how medical experiences impact mental health during the initial phases of the Covid-19 pandemic, and we know that many people are still reeling from that crisis. If this is true for you, we are here to provide a listening ear, and to help you recover however we can. We can help with pain, sleep, and stress and are constantly learning and adapting treatments to better serve our clients. We look forward to serving you.
Ginkgo Leaf Health Services is one of a kind. The ability to reach mental health providers with both expertise in trauma-focused treatment, and extensive healthcare experience, by clicking a link from the comfort of your own home is something special. The fact that these providers are so warm, genuine, and deeply passionate about providing good care makes it even better. The way that therapy is supported by wrap-around services like meditation and life coaching, as well as financial counseling to help you learn skills to get out of medical or academic debt, helps to speed recovery for our clients. If your physical health is impacting your mental health, we hope you choose to work with us!
