Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. You need someone who understands what makes you, you. That's why at Kip Therapy you can count on finding a therapist that understands your unique identity, where you don't have to explain yourself (unless you want to). Rest assured, we aren’t here to change who you are; we’re here to help you discover who you are.

Kip therapists help you find meaning, well-being, and purpose in the world, and in ways that traditional therapy often falls short. We recognize that all too often, the world inhibits the expression and realization of our core selves, whether it's misattuned caregiving, oppressive environments, or trauma. Along these lines, we have particular expertise in trauma-informed practice and supporting LGBTQ+ people. However, clients from all walks of life come to us because our therapists have a deep knowledge of what it means to feel lost and how to find your way, your place, in the world.

Kip has been a trailblazer in the mental health field for over a decade. Our mission is guided by three principles: Include, Invest, and Innovate. Founded and owned by a member of the LGBTQ+ community, we strive to create an inclusive and safer environment that understands how traditional therapy has fallen short in working with marginalized identities. Kip is different from similar group practices in that we invest in the continual learning and development of our staff. Kip also continues to innovate, boldly the field of psychotherapy forward, and evolve our own approach based on the latest best practices.

About

What services does your practice offer?

While our therapists have diverse backgrounds, interests, and expertise, every clinician at Kip takes a trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and culturally sensitive approach to their work. This might mean that your one-on-one therapy looks at your experiences in the development of your identity and self, focusing on the ways that trauma and stress have made it difficult for you to understand how and what you feel, or seeing the ways that your patterns of relating have kept you stuck. Kip also provides skilled treatment to couples and teens, with a particular emphasis on LGBTQ+ couples (and all varieties and shapes that relationships take) and sexual and gender identity development among youth.

How does payment work at your practice?

We accept most major insurances, whether you are in- or out-of-network. We submit claims on your behalf so that you can focus on your treatment, and not worry about therapy being out of reach because of costs. The best way to learn more about how your insurance could help is to contact us directly.

What are your practice's specialties?

Our therapists focus on your relationships, trauma-informed practice, and affirming approaches geared towards sexual, gender, racial, and cultural diversity.
