Langniappe Therapy offers counseling for young adult, adult individuals and couples, who have the desire to make real changes in their lives. We welcome anyone, who wants to experience improved wellbeing in their relationships as couples, parents, friends, siblings, co-workers and more. We also welcome anyone who wants to improve their relationship with themselves by deepening their understanding of who they are are, healing from trauma or recovering from anxiety or depression. We are dedicated to helping each and every one of our clients move closer to the kind of life experience that they want to have.
At Langniappe, we are committed to getting to know you and understand the struggles and challenges you face in your life. Our goal is to help you find the peace of mind, develop resilience, tap into your wisdom and learn new ways of coping with the curve balls that life throws at you. We are aware that the issues our clients bring into therapy, feel very personal, but are really the result of lived experiences in families, in society and in the world.
We especially welcome BIPOC and QBIPOC individuals who must constantly manage racism, sexism, queer phobia and homophobia as they navigate through life. We understand that oppression/ isms, of any kind can result in mental and emotional health challenges. This can create trauma to those who experience them. To this end, our clinicians capably utilize a social justice lens in their work.
We are a multicultural group of licensed, experienced therapists who welcome diversity and difference and are competent at working with a range of issues and problems.
Langniappe therapy offers individual therapy for young adults and adults and couples counseling. We are open to inclusion of collaterals in the counseling session where appropriate.
Langniappe clinicians have a variety of specialty areas. These include, trauma, depression, anxiety, bi polar disorder, grief, parenting, pregnancy and childbirth, LGBTQ issues, relationship issues, addictions and life transitions. We have a special interest in working with professionals, who are seeking to find balance and harmony in their lives. This includes professionals who are students of various disciplines at different stages of their training. We are also very interested in working with BIPOC and QBIPOC professional women, as well as immigrants who are having challenges adapting to American culture
At Langniappe we believe that each individual is unique and requires an approach that suits their style, needs, presentation and who they are in the world. This is why we use a client centered approach, designed to meet the client where they are in their process. We recognize our clients as experts in their lives and are there to guide them in honing in on that expertise. We see our clients' strengths and are there to facilitate the growth and development of these strengths. We also understand the role of trauma, both big and little traumas, that can lead to pain and suffering. Using a trauma informed approach, we work to help our clients understand these experiences, the role they have played in their lives and recover from them.
