Meadowlark Counseling, Supervision, & Consultation was started after Kristy and Erin's own experiences as a new moms. We saw first hand how intense becoming a parent (or expanding a family) can be, the challenge of using coping skills (no matter how experience we are!), and the importance of having a postpartum “village.” With years of clinical experience and tools, we realized that we wanted to become part of other parents’ villages and guide them in their journey in feeling confident, capable, self respecting, and joyful.
As clinicians with over 10 years of experience each, we are whole heartedly dedicated to meeting you where ever you are in your journey or transition- whether that be new parenthood, the growth of your family, changing or developing careers, moving from teen to young adult or young adult to full adulthood, or anything else that’s creating some waves in your life. We pride ourselves in creating a space for you to feel seen, accepted, supported, and empowered.
We are proud to be trained in DBT, CBT, TF-CBT, IMHATT, CCFC, Schema therapy, and certified in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International. We strive to provide evidence-based, trauma-informed, inclusive, and person- centered care. We also offer coordination to medication management through our partnership with Compassionate Care Psychiatry.
Meadowlark CSC is a full-service therapy group practice treating clients throughout NJ and NY. We offer individual, couples, family, and group counseling for children (6+) through adulthood.
We specialize in perinatal (pregnancy through baby's first year), young adults, teens, and parents of all ages. We have a particular interest in working with clients during transition points (tweens, teens entering young adulthood, young adults transitioning into adulthood, and adults becoming parents). Diagnostically, we are very well practiced in supporting clients working through: depression, anxiety, NSSI, intrusive or ruminative thoughts, and bipolar disorder.
Meadowlark CSC is prides itself in being a mothers-for-mothers counseling service. Both Kristy and Erin are survivors of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and are active community advocates for parent mental health, education, and resources.
We also both believe in the power of psycheducation and skill development. Although talking is a big and necessary part of therapy, we also want you to feel as though you walk away from each session with a new skill or technique to try (we commonly assign homework!) We pride ourselves in providing functional and evidenced based skills to support clients in meeting their goals and to help them recognize the progress they're making.
In short, we talk the talk AND walk the walk.
