Practice Information

When Michael DeSena's military career honorably came to an end, he decided to embark on a journey that would lead him to work within the community in a new way. He often says that psychotherapy found him, and because of that, he is committed to helping others find their version of peace within their lives. Thus, he founded Tip of the Spear Psychotherapy: a mental health group forged with intention and determination to provide people of all ages access to quality mental health care. We are a private group practice of carefully selected mental health professionals that provide individual, family, and couples therapy. We also provide LGBTQIA+ weekly Group Therapy Sessions that offers a safe and supportive space for the community.

Jon is a registered AMFT and APCC with an EMDR certificate. Jon works with those ready and willing to face and navigate challenges with empathy and care. He understands the courage to learn, grow, and press through challenging situations. Jon is caring, encouraging, and supportive and provides honesty and compassion during sessions.

Nikky is a compassionate therapist who believes in the transformative power of human connection. Her journey to becoming a therapist was paved by experiencing her own therapy which ultimately led to her holding two master's degrees in marital and family therapy and counseling, as well as a certificate in drug and alcohol counseling.

Peter brings a passion for creativity and emotional therapy. He is a firm believer in the power of storytelling, he seeks to find creative ways for his patients to reclaim their power in the face of whatever has brought them to therapy, helping them to open new chapters in their lives. Using humor, metaphor, and sometimes just plain horse sense come together to help you become the main character of your life again.
