Practice Information

Worth It Therapy Services is a therapy practice located in Kansas City, MO. They offer mental health services to adults eighteen years old and older who often find themselves unable to regulate their emotions. They often have outbursts of anger or frustration, and sometimes feel like they can’t stop crying. These intense emotions may interrupt work and also might cause conflict in their relationships. Worth It Therapy Services also supports those who feel stuck, including those who feel creatively stuck, and those who would like to make healthy changes for both their minds and their bodies.

The therapists at Worth It Therapy Services believe that healing must address both mental and physical health. They specialize in offering clients Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. This therapy approach leverages the brain’s natural functions to place painful or distressing memories in the past, while teaching clients how to remain grounded in feelings of safety in the present. It is an evidence-based therapy modality that can be used with individuals who have trauma backgrounds, including symptoms of anxiety and depression. The therapists at Worth It Therapy Services also practice the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Worth It Therapy Services believes in the importance of teaching clients about their reactions in the context of the nervous system, including the fight, flight, and freeze responses. They are knowledgeable about Polyvagal Theory which aids clients in supporting vagal tone. All Worth It therapists teach their clients many strategies for regulating their emotions so they can feel in control of their lives. Worth It Therapy Services also facilitate groups. Currently, Worth It is offering a virtual group focused on Gut Directed Hypnosis and an in-person retreat based on Dr. Brene Brown’s PhD book, Daring Greatly.
