My focus is working with young male clients (ages 8 - 25), using a blend of coaching and therapy. Most young guys are resistant to therapy, the blend of coaching often makes the idea of getting help more approachable. I offer free initial meetings in person as a way to give control back to the client before they commit to working with me, and pride myself on making sure clients (and their parents/family members) leave each session with strategies they can use right away.

How to find a life coach in Boston

Does health insurance cover sessions with a life coach?

Life coaching is typically not covered by insurance because coaching is not designed to treat a medical or mental health condition. However, if your coach is a licensed therapist who incorporates life coaching to treat a diagnosable mental health condition such as anxiety and depression, health insurance may cover your sessions. Some therapists who are also life coaches are in-network with insurances, and BlueCross BlueShield is the most commonly accepted health insurance in Boston. Most life coaches do not accept insurance, and you would be responsible for the full fee at the time of the session.

How much do life coaches charge in Boston?

Most life coaches charge $100-$200+ session in Boston. Some life coaches in Boston also offer monthly coaching packages, which might make sessions more affordable.

What is a life coach?

All Zencare life coaches are licensed therapists who have received additional training in life coaching. In addition to their therapy license, coaches may have training from various institutes such as the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) or the International Coach Federation (ICF).

Therapists may incorporate life coaching skills into therapy sessions, or offer coaching as a separate service to clients who do not meet diagnostic criteria for a mental health issue, but who wish to receive support in achieving their personal or professional goals.

Since there is no licensure, monitoring, or specific training required to call yourself a life coach, it’s important to find the life coach that is right for you. Ask questions to ensure a life coach has the training necessary to support your goals.

What types of challenges can life coaches help with?

Life coaches help clients fine-tune their lives and realize their fullest potential. You might work with a life coach if you’re looking for a structured plan or guidance to reach a specific life, career, or relationship goal. Other clients see life coaches for help with self-esteem, finding a romantic partner, or striking a better work-life balance.
