Professional statement

Akunna Aneke is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner located in Southlake, TX. She is passionate about combating the negative stigmas around mental health and accessing mental health services. Many of her clients suffer from insomnia, PTSD, depression, or anxiety. Other clients aren’t sure what’s going on internally, however feel distressed or uncomfortable in their everyday lives. She helps these clients through diagnostic assessment, psychoeducation, and medication management.

Akunna’s approach to mental health treatment begins with a thorough and compassionate diagnostic assessment. She asks clients about their symptoms, physical health, living situations, close relationships, and more, all in a safe, comfortable atmosphere that’s free of judgment. After getting to know the client, Akunna then determines a plan of treatment. Clients have the opportunity to collaborate on the development of this treatment plan, which may include medication if appropriate. Akunna then helps clients manage their symptoms and move forward to reach their goals.

Akunna earned her Master’s of Science in Nursing. Her goal is to help clients grow their overall wellbeing by paying attention to their physical and emotional health. She provides the support they need to feel comfortable in their everyday lives and to start working towards their mental health goals.
