PERSONAL STATEMENT.
Dr. Henrietta Okpala is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner located in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Okpala has extensive experience in treating behavioral health issues of people from different background. Dr. Henrietta is well knowledgeable in different proven evidenced based methods form her over 22 years of service as psychiatric provider. She aims to help those who need mental health support, especially those who are in difficult financial or housing situations.
Her clients face challenges with mental health conditions in different categories including minor sleeping problems to serious conditions like bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, ADHD and more. Through her humility, empathy and her well-developed listening skills, she can intercede with people experiencing difficult emotions like worthlessness, hopelessness, stress, or anger. Dr. Okpala individualizes her care, knowing fully well that each person is unique tailoring her therapy and medication expertise to the unique situation of each client.
Dr. Okpala’ mental health approach encompasses a person as a whole; Conversations take a holistic perspective of well-being, as well as their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health to get a bigger picture of what’s happening for them. Through supportive therapy, Dr. Okpala helps clients to find ways to engage with positive thoughts and feelings as well as to process through difficult situations.
Dr. Okpala obtained her Bachelor’s education from DUNY at Downstate medical center, Brooklyn in 1997, her master’s in nursing was from State University of NY, Stony Brook in May, 2002and she earned a Doctorate in Nursing from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, Utah in 2017. She has over twenty-two years of experience working with clients. She strives to empower clients to live well, decreasing the distress in their lives so they can enjoy each day.
