Jan Nelson is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner based out of Boston, MA who works with all age individual adults with a holistic approach to treatment. Jan believes in a whole body, wellness approach to treatment with a combination of lifestyle changes as well medication management and therapy. She will work with clients individually to develop a plan collaboratively in order to start living the best life possible.
With many years of experience, Jan's approach uses a combination of treatment modalities including addressing the whole-body system using therapy, medication evaluation and management, support, and cognitive behavioral therapy. She works to help clients develop effective coping strategies and tools to use on a daily basis to enhance quality of life.
Jan is focused on an interactive style of treatment ensuring her clients see real progress and have a huge part in developing an individualized treatment plan. Her style is empathetic, non-judgmental, and positions clients as the experts on where they are now, and where they want to go.
Jan’s first priority in starting with a new client is ensuring that they feel safe, heard, and like an equal partner in the therapeutic process. Jan offers both online telehealth sessions as well as in person visits for her clients, whichever is preferred.
