Professional statement

Maureen Graham NP is a licensed psychiatric nurse practitioner who works with people from adolescence through adulthood. Maureen sees every patient as a whole person, not as a collection of symptoms. Some patients benefit from medications, but Maureen also encourages clients to take into account sleep, lifestyle or other factors to support well being.

Maureen’s approach has been developed over decades of mental health care and training, in addition to being qualified as a registered nurse in adult medicine. She engages actively in getting to know each person and gently exploring reasons and small steps for change. Maureen has a deep well of skills and knowledge to draw from in helping people make genuine changes in their lives. Maureen has been especially effective with anxiety/panic, bipolar disorder, depression, ADHD, and stress management, among others.

Maureen works collaboratively within our team of therapists in our group practice. Clients have the option of pursuing talk therapy within our practice or with a therapist outside our group; some clients opt to focus on medication-only care. New clients should self-schedule or ask questions on our website.

All sessions are conducted by video using HIPAA-compliant software. We encourage clients to view our website and begin scheduling their first one-hour appointment with Maureen.

Message to clients

It's important to build a relationship with all your providers, a place where you can feel heard, seen, and supported. After getting to know you, we can explore if medication is right for you, and if so, I usually begin with balancing the best effectiveness with the least side effects or unnecessary impact. The brain is a powerful organ, and we can also talk about ways to support your brain health, including sleep, relaxation, exercise, food-as-medicine, etc. I commit to working with you through what might be some trial and error to find the right interventions to support your healing and growth.

First appointments take a full hour, so that we can get to know each other. I welcome a full conversation and evaluation so that I can provide the best care for you. Once we establish a rhythm, future appointments are much shorter. If you choose the option of working with a therapist in our group, we find that clients benefit from having a coordinated team working for you and rooting for you.
