Dr. R. Alex Padilla is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner located in Wenatchee, WA, but licensed to treat patients in CO, DC, FL, ID, MD, NH, NJ, NY, OR, VT, and WY.
Dr. Padilla is passionate about helping clients across a wide variety of mental health conditions, life situations, and challenges. He specializes in supporting active military, veterans, and their families, as he personally understands the impact that combat can have on a person’s mental health. He also enjoys working with clients who suffer from substance abuse and addiction, as well as ADHD, anxiety, or depression. He takes a holistic approach to treating clients, considering all aspects of their lives before writing their treatment plan.
Dr. Padilla takes a trauma-informed approach to therapy. He recognizes that not all individuals feel comfortable talking about their past traumas, painful memories, or difficult situations. His goal is to create a safe, relaxing atmosphere in his sessions where clients feel like they can trust him. He never pushes clients to disclose information about themselves, rather builds strong rapport throughout multiple sessions. When appropriate, Dr. Padilla prescribes medications to help clients manage their symptoms. These medications, which he starts on low doses, help clients with their panic attacks, excessive thoughts, impulsive behaviors, and more. He also draws from Jungian perspectives, offering clients eclectic, effective treatment.
Dr. Padilla earned a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Rutgers University. He has extensive experience as a nurse and a mental health professional. He also brings his personal experiences as a veteran and single father into his work with clients, boosting his empathy for what his clients are going through. He brings medical and non-medical elements into his practice, incorporating meditation, prayer, and sleep hygiene.
