Advanced Practice Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner - Board Certified, PMHNP-BC Specialties • Insurance & Fees • LocationsSantissa Clapp provides skills for patients to manage their own mental health with or without medications. Psychotherapy sessions include mindfulness, emotional regulation, and cognitive behavioral therapy. She also diagnoses and prescribes medication for your mental health. For patients who are interested in natural remedies, she starts with a colon cleanse.
This was her first choice as a career. She feels it chose her and she has found her purpose in life. Mental health is one of the areas in healthcare that most try to avoid or ignore but she was drawn to it. She meets her patients where they are and she is relatable. She learned from experience that all patients are unique, and it is necessary to personalize care.
The initial appointment includes diagnosis, a psych evaluation, and treatment options. She is open to hearing about medication options that the patient is interested in trying. The appointment usually lasts for 30 minutes and re-evaluation happens two weeks later. She does assign homework based on the patient's needs. She work with patients from various backgrounds.
She is willing to collaborate with other providers to improve the patient experience and deliver better patient outcomes.
