Message to clients

Psychiatry is an art as well as a science. To be effective, it requires a relationship between patient and provider founded on trust and mutual understanding. The goal of Apraku Psychiatry is to build long-lasting relationships to get your mental health as good as it can be. To that aim, our practice offers a culturally sensitive environment with no-rush appointments at a time and location that's convenient for you.

(1) Cultural sensitivity:
All adults are welcomed regardless of background. Having lived in three continents, Dr. Apraku is particularly sensitive to diversity in culture and self-identity, including with respect to race, gender and sexuality.

(2) No-rush appointments:
At Apraku Psychiatry, we believe that patient education is an integral part of the healing process. Knowledge of what ails you is often the first step to overcoming it. In our 75-minute initial and 30-minute follow-up appointments, we take the time to guide you through the science underlying your condition.

(3) Tele-medicine where you are:
Accessing mental health care should be as easy as calling an Uber or watching Netflix. At Apraku Psychiatry, it is. All appointments take place via secure video. That means you can seek care at a time and location that's convenient to you. In addition, established patients can message Dr. Apraku directly with clinical questions.

(4) Relocation promise:
Relationships are so important that Apraku Psychiatry gives a "relocation promise" to established patients. If you're moving within state, care continues uninterrupted thanks to tele-medicine. If you're moving out of state, we'll try our best to continue treatment by obtaining a license to practice in the state to which you're moving. If that doesn't work out, we'll work closely with your new psychiatrist to ensure continuity of care.
