Professional statement

Alexandra Hope Antonioli, M.D. Ph.D. is a Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist committed to helping her patients through their most challenging times. Dr. Antonioli grew up in Butte, Montana before attending Yale University for her undergraduate degree. She then moved to Colorado to complete her combined MD and PhD degrees before attending residency at UT Southwestern in Dallas. Dr. Antonioli has spent significant amounts of time in New York City (with a medical internship at ABC News) and in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. Her clients include patients who are struggling with difficult life transitions or acute stressors. She particularly enjoys helping people who are having challenges that arise with dating, divorce, school/job transitions, infertility, and after the loss of relationships or loved ones. She works with her clients to develop personalized treatment plans keeping in mind the goals of each of her patients. Dr. Antonioli typically sees the most results with patients who utilize weekly therapy for a concentrated period of time. As a researcher and scientist with a PhD in Molecular Biology, she judiciously uses medications only if indicated and only after having extensive discussions with her patients about the risks and benefits of each medication. Dr. Antonioli has a particular passion and extensive knowledge for providing care for patients who have had recurrent miscarriages, infertility, and infant loss. She is very familiar with the processes of egg freezing, IUI, IVF, and gestational surrogacy and therefore can provide a great support system for patients and their families who are going through these challenging times. Dr. Antonioli welcomes everyone to her practice and enjoys working with a diverse group of patients from across the country.

Message to clients

Welcome! Please call me “Dr. A.” I look forward to meeting you and I am excited that you are thinking about taking the next step in your life’s journey. First of all, attending therapy or starting a new medication (perhaps for the first time) can be scary and intimidating for a lot of people. I really strive to help my patients feel that they have a safe online space to be themselves without judgement. I ask my patients to come to their appointments with their own “agenda” for items that we can work on together. Therapy can be intense at times so I also ask my patients to really set aside time in their schedule where they can focus on themselves and have space after the session to reflect. If you already have a therapist you enjoy, I am also happy to just help you with medication management and lab work. I had seen amazing transformations in some of my patients and I hope that you will take time to consider whether we could be a good fit for working together. Remember, “Never Worry Alone.” I look forward to hearing from you soon!
