Professional statement

Dr. Jessica Beachkofsky is a board-certified psychiatrist and Florida native. She spent over a decade in the military and has experience caring for patients in and out of the hospital and teaching within the graduate medical education system. No matter who she’s caring for, it is of utmost importance for her to engage with respect, empathy and open-mindedness.

Dr. Beachkofsky provides medication management as well as various therapies. She is passionate about helping people through stressful transitions in their lives, and works with them to create treatment plans that are effective and data-driven. She understands the importance of a balanced approach to mental health care.

An initial virtual appointment with Dr. Beachkofsky will be thorough and engaging. After an initial screening call, she will obtain a mental health and medical history, and address any concerning issues that are brought up. Dr. Beachkofsky will answer questions, provide education on various treatment options, and offer guidance on how to choose the treatment path that most aligns with your goals and values. Each follow up appointment will be a reassessment of progress and you can decide together whether to make a change.

It is important to Dr. Beachkofsky that she has a strong therapeutic alliance with each of her patients. It is her goal to help people to make the best treatment decisions for themselves with as much education and guidance as needed. She is most effective with patients that are motivated to take an active, engaged stance in their mental wellness to become the healthiest versions of themselves.

Message to clients

Hi, Dr. B here. Once we get started together, I want to find out more about the different aspects of your situation to understand what has brought you to this point in your life, and how we can work together to lead you to a healthier mental space. Through introspection and discussion, we can work towards the solutions that bring the most benefit. Sometimes this means therapy or medications alone, or a combination. We can approach your problems as a team. I’m optimistic and enthusiastic about engaging in your mental wellness journey.

Be prepared for some homework! Not all the time of course, but for those who want to get the most out of their treatment with me, putting in the work is going to bring you the biggest return. That may look like medication compliance, keeping a sleep journal, or working on habit tracking and stacking. This information helps provide insight to better develop successful treatment strategies. I want to understand what makes you who you are, the whole unique person, from your physical health habits, self-care, emotional well-being, and genetic predispositions. Then we can work to find ways to maximize your mental wellness and help you lead the successful life you envision for yourself.
