Professional statement

Dr. Pan is a board-certified adult, child and adolescent psychiatrist, who sees clients in New York and Maryland solely through online sessions. Many of her clients struggle with mood disorders or anxiety disorders, such as generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder.

Dr. Pan specializes in psychiatric evaluation and psychiatric medication management, and she encourages simultaneous treatment with psychotherapy. Treatment with Dr. Pan involves an interview where she can first learn holistically about her client, followed by a discussion of possible treatment options and risks and benefits of medications. If it is determined that medication will be helpful and the client agrees, Dr. Pan will start the medication and continue ongoing medication management. Due to seeing patients strictly via telehealth, Dr. Pan does not prescribe controlled substances.

Dr. Pan received her MD degree from Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, then completed residency at Stony Brook University Hospital and fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center. Her goal is to help alleviate psychiatric symptoms via medications, making it easier for her clients to go about everyday life and utilize therapy skills.

Message to clients

It can feel stressful, lonely, confusing when facing mental health issues, but you don't have to go through this alone, and it is very courageous to seek help. Sometimes psychiatric symptoms may feel too overwhelming, or even after starting therapy, it may feel difficult to use therapy skills or improvement may not be significant at first. At times like this it may help to augment treatment with medication, and that's where I come in.

Meeting with me for the first time is about getting to see if we are a good fit for each other, and whether or not medications can be useful in the stage that you're in. I hope to help you attain a better quality of life by working together with you to overcome mental health issues. If this seems like a good fit for you, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
