Professional statement

Dr. Lindsey Rutledge is a Psychiatrist and Jungian Analyst located in Ken Caryl, CO. Dr. Rutledge has extensive experience helping people work through the challenges created by past trauma. These challenges may present as self-doubt, intense rumination, difficulty making decisions, or an inability to trust others. She also works with clients who have dissociative disorders and struggle to feel connected to themselves and others.

Dr. Rutledge enjoys bringing a sense of curiosity and hope into each session, and she maintains a nonjudgmental and empathetic style. She encourages clients to speak openly about their thoughts and feelings, even when this is difficult. Clients discuss the meanings behind their dreams and draw meaning from their inner worlds. She also teaches clients how to practice breathwork and grounding exercises, which are helpful tools to use in moments of distress. Many clients discover a greater meaning their lives after working with Dr. Rutledge, and develop coping strategies to employ when necessary. When appropriate, Dr. Rutledge prescribes medication that can diminish the impact of mental health symptoms.

Dr. Rutledge earned an MD from Creighton University School of Medicine and completed a residency at Montefiore Medical Center. She has also completed additional training in trauma and dissociative disorders at Sheppard Pratt, a psychiatric hospital outside of Baltimore. Most recently, she completed Jungian Analytic Training with the C. G. Jung Institute of Colorado, which is accredited by the International Association of Analytical Psychology.

Message to clients

I'm excited to start working with you! I look forward to learning about your unique strengths. Just as a physical wound heals itself, people's mental health tends towards healing if it is supported to do so. I will help you create those conditions and support you through the process.

Before your first visit, it is helpful if you write down any medications you have been on previously and also any dreams you have after we schedule. These both help us determine where to start.

Even if it doesn't seem like it now, you can feel better, and I will help you get there.
