Dr. Mariam Aboukar is a compassionate and dedicated psychiatrist who aims to provide holistic and integrative mental health care. She obtained her medical education from Ohio State University and Ohio University/Cleveland Clinic, followed by residency training at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Dr. Aboukar furthered her expertise with a fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

Passionate about serving college students and their families, Dr. Aboukar understands the unique challenges of this demographic. She offers a safe and nurturing space where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to navigate their mental health journey.

With expertise in various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and psychodynamic psychotherapy, Dr. Aboukar tailors her approach to meet each client's individual needs. College & graduate student mental health - Specialized strategies for common issues of young adulthood, including school and career stressors, support around healthy relationships, existential concerns, drug or alcohol issues, eating disorders, and anxiety and/or depression.

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
