Professional statement

Dr. Marta Majczak is a child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist, and faculty member at Brown University. She completed a residency in Pediatrics in addition to Psychiatry training in order to understand the complex relationship between medical, developmental, and psychiatric diagnoses.

Dr. Majczak's work experience includes years at the Children’s Partial and Pediatric Partial Programs at Bradley Hospital where she specialized in diagnostic clarification of complex children, in addition to psychopharmacology, individual therapy, and family therapy. She offers expertise in parenting children with anxiety, depression, autism, ADHD, behavior and school problems. She has also provided consultations for a local public school system, as well as for group homes and residential treatment facilities.

As a psychiatrist who completed additional postgraduate training in therapy, she provides the option of combined therapy and medication management appointments. Alternatively, Dr. Majczak may work with therapists and primary care providers for stand alone medication management. Her awards include the Dean's Excellence in Teaching at Brown University where she trains medical students, residents and fellows.

Dr. Majczak is licensed in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts and offers telepsychiatry to those who are unable to travel to their appointments. Her office is conveniently located within walking distance to the schools on the East Side of Providence. The building offers plenty of parking as well.

Message to clients

Anxious, depressed, overwhelmed? I can help. My goal is to find the best treatment plan for you, your child, and your family. I offer an area for you to address issues at your pace while keeping an eye on your goals and wellness.

To parents: I want to start with thanking you for everything you do for your family. Being a parent is not easy, especially when you are parenting a child who is experiencing difficulty. My office is one where you will not be judged for your child's behaviors or problems because I know that is not helpful. We will work together to figure out how to support you and your child with evidence-based treatments and medications only as they are indicated. I also treat parents directly, particularly those who are struggling with the transition to parenthood or balancing the demands of parenthood with other responsibilities.

To college students and young adults: I am here to help you if you feel like your coping skills are failing you. There are so many things you can do to feel better that are safe and well-tolerated. There is no time like the present to address the factors limiting your potential.
