Dr. Michelle Rickerby is a board-certified Child and Adult Psychiatrist in Providence, RI. She provides both psychotherapy and medication management to children and adults with a broad range of illnesses. Among her areas of specialized expertise are: the psychological challenges of chronic medical illness and complex pain, eating disorders, and somatoform illnesses. In addition, she has a great deal of experience with anxiety and mood disorders, ADHD, and a broad range of relationship challenges. Dr. Rickerby has years of experience helping patients manage complex combinations of medical and psychiatric challenges.

Dr. Rickerby is an expert in family therapy including couples’ therapy. She provides combined treatment (psychotherapy in combination with medication management) and is also comfortable coordinating with other providers across modalities of care. She is committed to supporting her patients throughout their recovery by creating an individualized treatment plan that works for them.

Having previously worked at all levels of care (outpatient, day treatment, and inpatient) in hospital-based programs, Dr. Rickerby is comfortable with supporting you and your family through highly challenging times. She completed her general psychiatry residency at George Washington University Hospital and her child psychiatry fellowship at Brown University. She received her MD the University of Connecticut. Her office is conveniently located near Brown University.

I provide family- based integrated care focused on empowering patients to manage psychological challenges as well as psychiatric and medical illness by treating them as individuals as well as in the context of important relationships in their lives using a range of psychotherapy modalities and medication management.
