Professional statement

Aaron Crowe is a therapist in private practice with offices in Encino and Pasadena. He works with a wide range of clients. His specialties include anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, developmental trauma, and spirituality. Aaron is particularly interested in helping people to develop a relationship with themselves based in kindness and curiosity.

When a client first starts therapy sessions are focused on understanding what meaningful healing and change will look like. As this understanding grows he focuses on creating a unique style and course of treatment for that individual client. Aaron believes the nature of the therapeutic relationship is an important part of successful outcomes.

Aaron received an MA from Phillips Graduate Institute. He trained at West Valley Counseling Center, which has an emphasis on understanding trauma and techniques for working with it. Aaron has advanced training in Integral Psychotherapy and the Stages model of human development. He has over two decades of experience as a meditation practitioner and more recently as a teacher.

Message to clients

I really like therapy. It has helped me immensely and I have seen it do the same for many other people. There is tremendous potential in therapy. It can bring about a transformation that helps you live from a place of more compassion, love, forgiveness, and understanding.

Much of what brings people into therapy boils down to being turned against themselves in some impactful way. You may struggle with your thoughts, your feelings, your primary relationships, or significant choices in your life. In some meaningful way you are having trouble trusting yourself or trusting life. By working together through the therapeutic relationship we can find ways to help create that trust.

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Self-esteem - Cultivating self-compassion, assertiveness, and confidence; developing ways to reduce suffering, anxiety, social withdrawal, and self-neglect

Life transitions - Coping with difficult or impactful life changes, such as moving to a new area, relationship transitions, child rearing, or career changes; learning self-care to better manage resulting stress

Creative blocks & writer's block - Setting goals and creating road maps to move beyond perfectionism, procrastination, and self-doubt; building self-awareness and skills to accomplish goals and fuel creativity

Existential crisis & challenges - Supportive exploration of meaning and purpose in one’s life; finding one’s path in the face of existential anxiety, dread, and feelings of meaninglessness

Spirituality & religion - Exploring beliefs and practices related to meaning, existence, and spiritual health and healing; enjoying a deeper felt connection with the spiritual dimension of one's life
