Professional statement

Abigail is a Clinically Licensed Independent Social Worker and Supervisor (LISW-S) through the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board (Phew, say that 10 times fast). Her pronouns are She/Hers.

In Abigail's earlier career she earned her Bachelor of Social Work from The Ohio State University and a Master of Social Work from Tulane University. Abigail has an extensive educational background in the field of mental and behavioral health. For more than 10 years, she has concentrated her professional resume on working with adolescence, young adults and families. Experiences include, but not limited to, school-based programming across multiple states, court-related programming in two different states, intensive community-based emotional and behavioral health treatment in and around the Central Columbus area, as well as clinical work in the private sector working with folx who identify on the LGBTQ spectrum.

Abigail's background in social work allows her to use a holistic pathway to treatment, integrating evidence based therapies with innovative approaches. She is trained in a number of modalities and has found a love for Play Therapy and EMDR. Abigail also enjoys incorporating additional evidence based practices such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, Expressive Arts, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy into her practice.

Message to clients

While I have experience working with a range of ages and issues, my speciality is working with adolescents and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and childhood wounds. Many folx whom I work with seek therapy wanting to eliminate their anxiety and depression, but often move on with a deeper understanding of where these issues stem from. They rediscover power in their voice and are able to set healthy boundaries. They explore patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviors, increasing a sense of self awareness. Folx move on feeling more connected and compassionate within themselves.

I have years of experience advocating for clients in schools and in the legal system. My therapeutic style is holistic, integrating evidence based techniques with innovative approaches and I am currently investing in extensive training in Play Therapy and EMDR. I also have the ability to provide WPATH letters for Trans clients seeking gender affirming care.

When you’re ready, I will be here. I have a safe space with a comfortable couch and a hot cup of tea waiting for you. You've got this. Let's do some work together.
