Dr. Abrah Sprung is a highly sought-after clinical psychologist with over two decades of expertise in the field. She specializes in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and trauma therapy. Dr. Sprung is among a limited number of clinicians in the world practicing EMDR who have met the rigorous advanced training and expertise standards required to earn the designation of a Certified EMDR Therapist. She also provides consultation for other EMDR clinicians seeking to advance their skills.
Dr. Sprung works well with clients from many different backgrounds and with many different experiences, including those with anxiety, panic, grief, chronic illness, a life-threatening diagnosis, a difficult childhood, and more. Clients who may also find her to be a good fit for themselves are those who are creative types, professionals, neurodivergent, LGBTQIA, therapists, and more.
Dr. Sprung works closely with clients to craft a therapy plan that speaks to their unique story. To this end, she offers both stand-alone EMDR treatment and EMDR blended with other modalities, such as Brainspotting, for a more gentle, direct approach to feelings that may be blocked, an Internal Family Systems-informed approach for those who've had a difficult childhood or could benefit from integrating parts of themselves, and Somatic Therapy, to address nervous system dysregulation and improve the mind-body connection. Dr. Sprung also has extensive advanced training in customizing EMDR to address particular circumstances and issues that are part of the picture such as recent events, complex traumas, and targeting of specific symptoms such as anxiety or panic.
For those interested in accelerating treatment, or for whom a weekly or bi-weekly appointment isn't feasible, Dr. Sprung offers EMDR Intensives. EMDR Intensives combine several hours of therapy together, from several hours to a full day at a time, over one or more days.
