Professional statement

Dr. Adrienne Meier is a licensed psychologist in New York and California, who specializes in therapy and assessment with adolescents and adults. She has a PhD in Clinical Psychology and completed her clinical residency at New York University’s Bellevue Hospital Center. Dr. Meier conducts remote therapy sessions via teletherapy (video) for clients who reside anywhere in California or New York, but also has a physical office located in Pasadena, California.

Dr. Meier treats a variety of issues but specializes in Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), anxiety and depression. She doesn’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy because no two persons are alike. Instead, she tailors therapy to fit a client’s needs by drawing on Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) and Psychodynamic therapy. For example, therapy might focus on concrete strategies to assist clients in managing symptoms or involve examining patterns in our life that may negatively impact overall wellbeing or prevent clients from achieving the outcome they desire.

Message to clients

I always tell everyone the most important part of therapy is the connection with the therapist, so I encourage you to take time to find someone who you are comfortable with and feels like a good fit for you. Having a space where you can be yourself is so important! You’ll find that I am genuine, compassionate and engaged in the therapeutic process. I view therapy as a collaboration so I will pose thoughtful questions and challenge you to think about things differently to progress towards the goals you have. I look forward to the opportunity to work together to optimize and improve your life.
