Professional statement

Agata Daria Kubinska is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Chicago, IL. Agata’s clients turn to therapy as a way of making effective change in their lives. They found themselves struggling with feeling stuck in daily routines that weren’t satisfying or fulfilling, and no matter what they tried to do to change how they felt, they still couldn’t find a greater sense of meaning. Working with Agata, these clients processed through their fears, anxieties, disappointments, and frustrations. Agata also works with clients who are in the middle of major life transitions, as well as those who would like to grow their self-esteem so they feel more confident in social situations, both in their personal and professional lives.

Agata believes that all humans are resilient, and working through challenging times leads to empowerment. She is a psychodynamic therapist who encourages clients to look inwards at their motivations, desires, needs, and wants. She begins the therapeutic relationship by building a strong trust within each session so that clients feel comfortable opening up about their emotions. At times, she encourages clients to use the therapeutic relationship as a proxy for other relationships in their lives, giving them practice in setting boundaries and expressing needs. Agata’s expertise in childhood development offers clients the opportunity to learn more about their own upbringings, drawing connections between their early relationships and relationships in adulthood.

Agata earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Erikson Institute. She enjoys helping clients understand intergenerational trauma and process through deeply rooted pains that lead to a roadblock to feeling joy, meaning, or connection with others. She is a collaborative therapist who tailors her sessions to the needs of each individual client.

Message to clients
