Dr. Aguib Diop is a Licensed Psychologist located in Utica, MI. Dr. Diop specializes in the psychological testing and diagnosis of AD/HD, learning disabilities, cognitive decline, mood, anxiety, thought and personality disorders. He also provides recommendations for workplace and/or testing accommodations to support clients who have these conditions. Psychological evaluations can be completed in person or online, depending on the type of evaluation requested. With a comprehensive understanding of their needs, clients can take the appropriate steps for treatment.
Dr. Diop also works with adults who experience anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders, especially those associated with burnout or difficult transitions. He supports clients who struggle with ongoing relationship conflicts that lead to less enjoyment of daily life. Dr. Diop begins by building a strong rapport with his clients. He listens empathetically as clients talk about their lives, including the mental health histories, their current symptoms, and their personal or emotional goals. Dr. Diop provides Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and interpersonal therapy. Clients learn how to change their thought patterns to avoid self-criticism or judgment, which often takes a toll on how they feel about themselves and others. Dr. Diop encourages clients to reflect on their relationships, both romantic and unromantic, and observe their patterns. By identifying harmful patterns that lead to conflict or negative emotional states, Dr. Diop supports clients to grow healthier, more meaningful relationships.
Dr. Diop has over 15 years of experience as a psychologist. He earned his Master’s degree in School and Community Psychology and a PhD in Educational and Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University. He has experience working in the school and clinical settings, and is passionate about helping others through his private practice.
