Aida Hernandez is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with young adults who deeply desire to be present in their own lives. Her clients struggle with anxious thoughts that waste their energy and leave them feeling burnt out. Many of Aida’s clients are young professionals, college students, or creative folks that feel enormous pressure to succeed, which leaves them to struggle with perfectionism, depression, or anxiety. This can look like procrastination or avoidance, and often shows up as issues in relationships with family and loved ones.
Aida teaches clients how to be more mindful in their lives so they can relax into each moment. She encourages clients to reflect on the origins of their anxiety or fears, and to think back to what experiences in their lives shaped who they are and how they interact with the world. She draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients find a more authentic direction in their lives based on their values and what’s important to them. She also incorporates elements of attachment therapy for clients whose mental health patterns negatively impact their relationships. Aida also offers psychodrama and teaches clients how to tap into their emotions for healing purposes.
Aida earned a Master’s degree from Montclair State University. She has nearly 15 years of experience working in the mental health field and has helped numerous clients feel more in control of their lives. Her goal is to equip clients with the tools they need to live authentically, both at work and in their personal lives.
