Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWShe/Her/Hers
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWAilyn Costa-Minch is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with teenagers and adults. Ailyn offers individual and couples therapy, as well as team and group coaching. She generally works with clients who feel overwhelmed by their anxiety. They have racing thoughts, ruminations, excessive worry, and even sometimes panic attacks. This anxiety could originate from the pressures of school, a professional career, relationships, or a self-imposed drive towards perfection. It leaves Ailyn’s clients feeling emotionally spent, frustrated, and unable to focus.
Ailyn’s approach to therapy with her clients starts with understanding their mental health goals. As a coach, Ailyn helps clients determine what they would like to change about their lives and how they can make those changes. She uses a strengths-based, compassion-focused approach, which means that she encourages clients to recognize and affirm their individual strengths, as well as show themselves compassion. Clients learn how to better manage their emotions so that they can cope with moments of distress. Clients also learn to pay attention to the patterns in their lives and change those that aren’t helpful or healthy. She enjoys bringing a mindfulness and Buddhist perspective to conversations, teaching clients about the mind-body connection.
Ailyn earned a Master’s degree in Social Work and has over 10 years of experience working with clients. Her goal is to instill a sense of resilience and authenticity into clients’ lives. She hopes to leave clients with high self-esteem and confidence so that they feel ready to tackle any challenges that come their way.
