Professional statement

Aja Evans is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who specializes in financial therapy. Many of Aja’s clients work with her to focus on how they can improve navigating their life, in a more holistic manor- diving into work, relationships, self-esteem, and money.

In session, Aja utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. She puts emphasis on building a healthy therapeutic relationship allowing for trust as you explore how your life experiences impact how you respond, connect, and step into the power of our authentic self. Examining your inner thoughts, narratives, and behaviors allows for a better understanding of the barriers potentially preventing you from striving forward. Aja hopes to assist you in learning to identify barriers and maladaptive habits that impact your relationship with your money while implementing coping strategies they can utilize to change their perspective and strive towards their goals.

Aja's style is warm, engaging, and non-judgmental. When clients first start therapy with her, she provides a comfortable environment that promotes honesty and the allowance of understanding each client's personal narrative.

Aja received her Masters in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University. She has worked at a variety of behavioral health settings, spending several years working at clinics and with Coordinated Behavioral Care, where she lead teams in assisting members to reintegrate into the community after time spent in the hospital . Outside of private practice, Aja enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with family & friends.

Message to clients

Your therapy journey is a deeply personal process. The taboo of discussing your feelings, being vulnerable, or talking about money and its impact on your emotional wellbeing can be fraught with hesitation and resistance to go deeper. I strive to help my clients move past what is no longer serving them and towards a place of healing, strength, and a positive money mindset. You do not have to work alone in your efforts to feel your best. Through our therapeutic alliance, I hope to work with you to find the root of what may be holding you back.

"I was able to develop a very comfortable relationship with Aja very quickly. She's very adamant about the way she goes about therapy is comfortable with the patient and that she is fulfilling what the patient wants out of therapy through her approach. Aja is a fantastic therapist and I would recommend her to anyone who is battling anxiety, depression, and or major life changes."
- Zencare client November 2022
"She is amazing when it comes to allowing people to speak their truth and reassuring them. The pastor on is either positive for their life, or to see how we can reevaluate it. She’s also empathetic and shows compassion, and I am so happy to have her as my therapist."
