Alece Coleman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to helping women learn how to process difficult childhood experiences so they can have meaningful relationships of all kinds (parental, platonic and romantic). Alece is a graduate of Fordham University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work and a specialization in Social Work and Law. Alece holds extensive post Master's education and Certifications in Perinatal and Post Partum Mood Disorders, Somatic (Body based healing) and Inner Child Work.
Initially Alece serves clients by determining their needs also known professionally as the humanistic approach. As needs are identified, Alece begins to utilize inner child work to work through unprocessed emotions from childhood that are affecting current relationships and or decision making. When appropriate cognitive behavioral skills are used to help track progress towards client identified goals.
Clients meet with Alece virtually through a HIPPA secure platform making therapy easily accessible and flexible to meet the needs of clients.
ADHD - Skill-building and support around organizational challenges, distracted attention, procrastination; building and maintaining healthy routines and structure
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life
Pregnancy, perinatal, postpartum mental health - Addressing issues specific to women and families during the pregnancy and postpartum period, including postpartum depression and anxiety
Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse
Abortion & post abortion challenges - Processing through the emotions that come with experiencing abortion; developing an understanding of how getting an abortion impacts one’s life and addressing any residual negative emotions
