Professional statement

Aletheia is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in New York City. She works primarily with millennials and adults who are looking for support through life transitions. These transitions can include moving, beginning/ending relationships, and making lifestyle or career changes. She also assists those struggling with traumatic experiences and borderline personality disorder. Aletheia helps these clients accept themselves for who they are while increasing their coping skills, self-esteem, and self-love. Life transitions, even positive ones, can leave us feeling stuck, anxious, confused, and lost. She also specializes in helping young adults resolve past trauma.

Aletheia uses a trauma-informed approach with Progressive Counting Therapy (PCT) to ensure that clients feel safe and supported throughout the therapy process. PCT is a relatively new treatment approach that has shown promising results in the treatment of trauma and PTSD.

Aletheia incorporates different therapeutic techniques into her work including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Progressive Counting.

Together, your work with Aletheia will help you navigate through difficult emotions and feelings while learning to recognize and change negative thought patterns. You will gain the ability to feel comfortable and confident with yourself, increase your ability to cope with your stressors, and improve your relationships with others. This process will happen in a safe, judgment-free space. Life transitions do not need to be overwhelming. Having the right support can make this a time of self-growth and personal betterment.

Aletheia takes a warm, humanistic, and collaborative approach to therapy. She deeply values the therapist-client relationship and believes in its power for sparking self-growth and creating lasting change.

Aletheia has an online therapy practice. She offers virtual video sessions to help make therapy more accessible. Aletheia also offers her clients the first session for $8, so they can get to know her before committing to her full fee.

Message to clients

I strongly believe that everyone can benefit from the therapeutic process. We all experience difficult times that leave us feeling stuck, alone, and unsure of how to move forward. Our work together will teach you the tools to move through this time, manage difficult emotions, incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily life, and help you to understand how emotional wounds from the past might be informing your present thoughts and behaviors.

My goal is to create a space free of judgment. This space will allow you to feel vulnerable in a safe way and authentically express yourself. I work collaboratively with my clients in creating individualized treatment plans and goals for therapy so we can make the most out of our time working together.

I’d love to connect and discuss what you’re looking for and how I can best support you on this journey. Send me an email, and we can schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation.
