Alexandra Cox is a Mental Health Therapist in Moon Township. She works with individuals on a daily basis. Many of Allie’s clients come in to address trauma, communication difficulties, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Allie is particularly passionate about serving individuals who are wanting to feel like themselves again. She also has advanced training in the area of trauma, anxiety, and depression.
Allie is trained in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), parts work, cognitive behavioral therapy. Allie uses different techniques to help treat individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, and communication difficulties. Allie will work with you to target what your triggers are help you understand where they came from. Once we learn the root of the cause, we will then work to ground you and help you feel better over time. In session, Allie focuses on the emotional struggles of the week, breathing exercises, visualizations, and grounding tools. This approach helps clients feel more grounded, secure in themselves, and gain the confidence needed to go through life.
Allie's style is empathetic, engaging, and calming. When clients first start therapy, she will work to understand the client's history, what their goals are, what is encouraging them, and what they would like to gain out of the sessions.
Allie received her MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from California University of Pennsylvania. She has worked at a private practice during her clinical experience and a drug and alcohol treatment facility as her first employment experience outside of her masters. Outside of private practice, she loves spending time with her family, going on walks/hikes with her family and dog, baking, and watching movies. She is currently offering remote sessions at this time.
