Professional statement

Alexandra Gulbis is a Clinical Social Worker located in Isleton, CA. Alexandra enjoys working with clients who want to tackle the big questions in life, including questions of identity, meaning, purpose, and values. Many of Alexandra’s clients suffer from the impacts of traumatic experiences, which can often lead to anxiety, depression, isolation, frustration, and fatigue. She also supports clients who have ADHD and those who often get overwhelmed by their stress levels.

Alexandra’s approach to therapy is existential, eclectic, and experiential. She works with clients through a psychodynamic, family systems lens, building strong rapport with clients and helping them understand the relationships in their lives and how these relationships can result in certain emotions, beliefs, or behaviors. For clients who have difficulty moving past painful memories, she offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. She also teaches clients how to reflect on their lives through narration and empowers clients to take control of their daily lives.

Alexandra earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Psychology with a focus on Existential, Humanistic, and Transpersonal Psychology. She has certification in EMDR therapy and an extensive background in helping clients through difficult situations.

Message to clients

Are you looking for meaning? Maybe you know what you want out of life, even have an idea of how to get there, but finding the fuel to get to that step of action is always just out of reach.

Or maybe you feel like you’ve applied so many short-term solutions and bandaids that it’s time to figure out who you are at your core, underneath the quick fixes that never quite deliver what they promise.

My approach looks beneath the surface. I primarily operate from an existential lens that looks at the big questions we are challenged with surrounding the meaning of life, the roles we accept, and those that we strive for within our understanding our ourselves as well as our chosen families and our communities, and how we rectify these to find meaning.

You don’t have to undertake the voyage on your own. With the advances in technology, I fit within the confines of your screen to walk your journey with you. What a marvelous time to be alive! Reach out to me today and let’s work together to create the life you desire, one of meaning, fulfillment, and joy in the process, not just the results.
