Mental Health Counselor - Limited Permit, MHC-LP Master of Arts, MA Practice: Resilience LabAlexis primarily works with young adults overcoming eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image issues. She also works with clients to address anxiety, manage depression, and move through trauma. Using psychodynamic therapy, Alexis collaborates with clients to heal the relationship they have with themselves so they can flourish.
Part of Alexis’s approach involves empowering clients to consider how their self-talk impacts the way they engage with themselves and the outside world. This gives clients the tools to reframe their negative core beliefs, practice self compassion, and be a little bit kinder to themselves.
Alexis creates a collaborative, empathic space for her clients. She loves celebrating small wins with them because they add up to big steps toward self-compassion. By co-creating both short and long term goals, Alexis’ clients ultimately feel better about their self image, moving closer toward wellness, and ultimately achieving self acceptance.
