Professional statement

Alia Stewart-Silver is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in California, Colorado, and Virginia. Alia believes that each of us are capable of breaking free from the habitual patterns that hold us back from experiencing the joy, connection, and meaning that is available. Alia has observed how the coping strategies her clients developed as children or adolescents trying to stay safe and accepted by others often end up causing more pain than benefit by the time they reach adulthood. These strategies often become clients' unconscious operating software through which they perceive the world, re-enact previous patterns, and remain trapped by limiting beliefs. She has seen how operating from these outdated mental and behavioral patterns stunts holistic well-being.

Alia’s approach to working with clients is to create a space of radical acceptance and unconditional care, so they can uncover who they truly are and what they need to thrive. She lovingly invites clients to reflect on past traumas and difficult experiences so they can integrate the residual feelings while maintaining a sense of safety in the present. She also encourages clients to examine how societal conditioning and intergenerational wounding have shaped their sense of self and life choices. Alia provides life coaching around self-identified goals and supports clients to access greater motivation to make the changes needed to meet those goals. Through mapping a fuller picture of who they are and where they want to go, Alia's clients have expressed living with more purpose, authenticity, and direction.

Alia earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from UC Berkeley in 2014 and has nearly 10 years of clinical experience supporting individuals and couples. She is also a trained Reiki healer, wilderness guide, community facilitator, and regenerative agriculturalist. Alia weaves the diverse threads of her training background into a unique and transformational therapeutic offering.
