Professional statement

Alicia Almonte-Cintron is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of New York. She specializes in a variety of topics, including addiction, anxiety, trauma, and relationships.

Alicia's practice, AAC Counseling, is fully virtual, allowing you the flexibility to meet anywhere in New York State. Alicia’s therapy approach combines CBT and DBT. CBT works to address thinking patterns and behavior, while DBT is used to manage emotions and address how one relates to themselves and the world around them. She received her Masters’ Degree from SUNY at Albany in December 2019. She has worked in community mental health before pivoting to private practice and focusing on individual and couple's therapy.

Alicia is available Sunday- Friday, generally from 9am-7pm. Please inquire about specific days and times.

Message to clients

I like to treat a person as a whole- the sum of your different characteristics make you unique. Each person is radically different and part of the journey is uncovering who you are at your core. My approach utilizes CBT to explore your thoughts and their origins to uncover unhealthy behaviors. We'll then use DBT to make sense of how you're experiencing your emotions and help with emotion regulation.

We, unfortunately, don't get 'how-to' manuals when we become adults, and without the proper support, that can leave us feeling frustrated and isolated. But that's where therapy comes in. We'll go over skills you might not have learned and help get you to the person you want to be.
