Professional statement

Alisha is a licensed clinical social worker and has over 10 years of experience working in a number of different settings with individuals of all ages. Currently she offers services to adults 18+, with a heavy focus on maternal mental health and individuals managing life transitions and changes. Alisha often sees clients who are looking for an extra level of support to reconnect with themselves, learn healthy coping strategies, and process the anxiety/stress/depressive symptoms that have begun to impact their day to day functioning. The reason for these symptoms can range from infertility, postpartum DX, a break-up, singleness, a move or job change, relationship stress or simply preventative work for handling future challenges.

Alisha uses a collaborative client centered approach in her work, and is also well versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and incorporates that into a lot of her treatment. Gaining more insight and understanding into how our thoughts, feelings and behaviors are all connected re-establishes a sense of power and control over one’s life that anxiety and depression often make us believe is gone. Alisha is also certified in working with perinatal mood disorders, and postpartum adjustment.

Alisha is currently living in South Florida, but is licensed in KY, IN and FL. Sessions are all virtual and conducted from a HIPAA secure platform that clients can access from the comfort of their own homes. Alisha is in network with insurance panels (Anthem and Humana) in KY/IN, but only accepts Private Pay in FL. She is currently accepting new clients and welcomes folks of all backgrounds and walks of life to reach out.

Message to clients

Life can throw a number of curve-balls our way. Sometimes these experiences are manageable, but often they bring up a number of feelings, thoughts, and reactions that impact our daily functioning. Perhaps you are struggling with infertility, grief/loss, the challenges of pregnancy + new parenthood, or postpartum anxiety/depression. Maybe you have experienced trauma in your lifetime and have never had the space to give it the narrative it deserves. Or are experiencing stress from a new life transition. Whatever it might be, I offer a collaborative, safe, and supportive environment to find the solutions that best meet your needs.

Ultimately, I want you to begin to feel at peace in your own body- maybe rediscovering a peace that was lost or finding it for the first time. You will come away from therapy with a set of skills that will allow you to navigate your pain and find new meaning and purpose in your life. I look forward to hearing from you!
