Professional statement

Allie Kessel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in New York, NY who works with teenagers, young adults, and adults. Her main client demographic is people who struggle with anxiety and/or OCD. Often, her clients’ perfectionism leads to struggles with low self-esteem or relationship issues, as does their feelings of worthlessness. Allie also works with people who are going through major life changes or high levels of stress.

Allie’s approach blends several therapy approaches, offering clients a wide range of evidence-based interventions and support. She often leans on somatic techniques to help clients explore how their bodies react to their emotions. This might look like targeting racing thoughts or aches, which could be manifestations of trauma or distress. Allie’s clients learn more about mental health and the role that their emotions can play in their lives and relationships, learning how to boost their self-compassion and self-love.

Allie earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. She has over seven years of experience in the mental health setting and is passionate about transforming her clients’ lives. She is an empathetic therapist who supports healing and empowerment, helping turn clients’ lives around.

Message to clients

I’m Allie Kessel, a licensed clinical social worker dedicated to helping teens, young adults, and adults who struggle with OCD, anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression. I take an integrative approach, blending evidence-based practices with somatic techniques to address both the mind and body, providing support for racing thoughts, intense emotions, and physical discomfort.

In our first few sessions, you can expect education about how and why symptoms of OCD, anxiety, and depression occur, guidance on responding effectively to these symptoms, and a listening ear to better understand your unique experiences.

What sets my practice apart is my holistic approach. I focus on providing education, teaching actionable skills, cultivating self-compassion, and helping my clients grow into the best versions of themselves.
